Cool Stuff I Did in High School My friends and I placed a large male sex organ on the front of the gym. It was there when people came to school that Monday morning. We all got suspended for 3 days. Instead of telling his parents the truth, Bruce Hensel told his mom that he needed a break from school, since he had been working so hard. They agreed, then they found out.

Our daily lunches in Mr. Fleisch's room were always interesting. Enaway, at some point all of the desks would wind up smashing into one another. One time Mr. Fleish's desk got pushed out into the hall and into the girls bathroom. He just sat in his office quietly eating his lunch.

There was a gate in the fence leading into the school grounds from the Conejo St. area. At some point the administration decided to permanently lock the gate, probably to keep us from cutting class. A group of students decided that this was a bad thing. We cut the lock, and hid the gate in the bushes near the fence. They found it and locked it again. We returned and cut the lock. We then cut the gate in half, and strung it part way up the flagpole. A great act of defiance back then.

Mr. Turner's Surveying class consisted of most of us setting up our telescopes so that we could watch the girls PE class. I think that was my favorite class of the year.

Cool Stuff I've Done in the Last 30 Years Went to Cuesta, then Poly. Never left the area. Became a pretty decent snow skier, but never did see Bob Barrows at Mammoth. I also took up volleyball. I still play 3-4 times per week, mostly on the beach at Pismo. I got certified at scuba diving, and have made a couple of trips to Cozumel, Mexico. I met my wife 8 years ago. I feel very fortunate to have found someone who enjoys many of the same things in life that I do.

After 25 years in the Insurance business, I have just retired.  I am looking forward to starting (and completing) a number of overdue projects around the house.  I'm sure I will find plenty of things to keep me busy.  I'm also looking forward to spending more time doing things I want to do, rather than things I have to do.
